A professional collective of African health systems leaders building resilient health systems for Africa
Most African facilities lose care continuity when power, connectivity, and admin systems fail. SelNexa Health is a professional collective of African trailblazers building offline-first infrastructure and a portfolio of health systems initiatives that keep care running under those constraints.
Healthcare systems should not fail because the internet does.
In health institutions across Zimbabwe, we watched healthcare workers fight two battles at once: treating patients while working around power cuts, unstable connectivity, missing records, and medicine losses that should never have happened.
Essential stock expired unnoticed. Reports arrived late or not at all. Systems built for always-on infrastructure became unreliable the moment conditions became difficult - which is exactly when health institutions needed them most.
Most digital health platforms were designed for environments with stable electricity, fast internet, and constant technical support. Rural and district healthcare facilities were expected to adapt around those assumptions.
We chose the opposite approach.
SelNexa was built from the realities of African healthcare operations outward: offline-first, resilient under low connectivity, and designed to keep functioning when infrastructure does not.
Our Mission And Vision
Our Mission
Close Africa's healthcare infrastructure gap by building sustainable, locally governed systems that improve equitable access and continuity of care.
Our Thesis
African healthcare will not be strengthened by importing fragile tools built for stable infrastructure. SelNexa Health designs from local constraints outward: offline continuity, low bandwidth resilience, local governance, and practical implementation.
Our Values
Pragmatism: Build what can survive field conditions. Sovereignty: Keep data governance close to local health leaders. Partnership: Design with institutions, communities, and implementation teams. Impact: Measure whether each initiative improves care, operations, or access.
INCLUSION & EQUITY
Leave No One Behind
We adopt the UN and AU principle of Leave No One Behind as a design requirement for every deployment.
Inclusive Digital Access
Our platform is designed for marginalized youth, rural communities, and persons with disabilities who are often excluded from high-bandwidth Silicon Valley 'ports'. Offline-first workflows, low-bandwidth operation, and accessibility-first interfaces keep care teams connected across device and connectivity constraints.
Equity by design
We co-design with local partners to ensure language, workflow, and governance realities are respected, and to build systems communities can own and sustain.
OUR DEVELOPMENT ALIGNMENT
Why this work aligns with global health priorities
SelNexa Health translates global development priorities into deployable infrastructure. We focus on the practical layer that lets health institutions continue care, protect data, coordinate resources, and report outcomes in constrained environments.
Offline-first workflows support universal health coverage by keeping patient access, records, and essential operations available during outages.
FHIR-ready interoperability, local data governance, and low-bandwidth design make digital health infrastructure useful where it is usually most fragile.
Deployment is designed for facilities, ministries, NGOs, research partners, and funders who need measurable outcomes rather than presentation-stage technology.
Our Leadership Team
Healthcare and technology leaders building SelNexa Health as a long-term African health systems organization.
Keith Tafangombe
Founder & CEO | Systems Architect for African Healthcare Resilience
Keith Tafangombe is a systems architect and healthcare operator from Zimbabwe who founded SelNexa Health to build resilient digital infrastructure for African health institutions and hospitals. He architected the SelNexa Health Platform proof-of-concept at Manicaland District Hospital and leads the organization's project portfolio across infrastructure-aware health systems, AI-driven resource optimization, and field deployment.
